Mash

I have a love/hate relationship with Sundays as most do..  it's usually a nice, slow day in this household and a day to sleep in or at least attempt to. On the other hand, it's only a countdown to Monday and back to the grind.. ugh.

We tried a Mexican buffet for lunch today, it's pretty rare to see one of those so we have been meaning to give it a shot for a while. It didn't disappoint, there were plenty of goodies and the staff was really welcoming & nice..  oh, and it was pretty cheap. Win-win.

We have just kind of hung out at the house today, we had a minor derailment after a galactic interference. Inside joke ;]

I enjoy piddling around on Sundays..   see my piddling.

Lunch and then Some.

Today so far has been a pretty great day, we got to sleep in, spend some time just hanging out on the couch.. then ventured out to lunch and then went to WATCH (as corrected by TN)  The Hunger Games. (In IMAX, which I recommend)

the ever satisfying spanakopita

feta fries. redaculous.that's all.

TN's portabella panini ~ was good but bland.

my steak wrap, not the pretty thing on the table but it was really tasty!

cheers weekend.

Filling in the Blanks.. Colors.

1.  My favorite color is black.

2.  My home decor color palette include a lot of black, dark woods, reds, browns, blues. We haven't ever really "decorated" this apartment.

3.  Other people always tell me I look good in the color teal or purple.

4. The color I detest is ..really depends on the application.  A color can look hideous on one thing and fantastic the next imo.

5. If you were to look in my closet most of the colors you'd see a lot of black & grey but for whatever reason I've decided I should get on the color train and now you may spot teal, red, bright pink, yellow, green..

6. A color that I simply cannot pull off no matter how hard I try is ..I don't really know, I think I'd say a navy or dark blue, maybe?

7.  The color of my favorite dress is  ..haha, no dresses really but I did have, maybe I still do?..anyway had a nice teal dress that I did like quite a bit.

Simple Surprise.

I'll be honest, I went into this weekend not expecting much.. last week was kinda tough for a variety of reasons and  I kinda figured the bad vibe was going to follow us right thru the weekend. Friday went fine and even kind of quickly, we grilled out and had a nice time but as it started to wind down it was looking more & more like my presumption for the weekend was going to be right.

Fast forward to Saturday morning and I wasn't even looking forward to it really.. I got up kinda early and pittled around. I finished up a little house cleaning from the day before and then decided I wanted to go for a walk at the local park.. TN joined me and all of a sudden, the day got bright, things felt good again, all of last weeks ugliness faded and since the weekend has been wonderful.

Spotted this little baby only a few feet into our trail walk..  I wouldn't mind taking him home!

walked down passed the lake.

then there was this guy & his compadre below.. he was a little instigater.. just sat there and watched us then inched closer and closer..  pretty sure he was looking for a snack. the guy below snuck up behind me to my left on the railing which resulted in my screeching and jumping backward which resulted in my feeling pretty silly but we laughed and made it passed the guards in the end.

walked along the little river runoff from the lake.. figured we would spot an alligator or two in the marshy banks but no such luck. although we did find a rather large black snake slithering away into the palmettos.

On a completely unrelated note I finally decided to break down and buy a Gentle Leader facial collar..  I have a tugging, pulling, ornery dog when she's on a leash and I am so tired of it, makes taking her out a real hassle and a dreaded adventure quite honestly. The packaging guaranteed to have immediate results so I handed over my $22.00 and decided to give it a shot. It's all one piece, a collar that goes around their neck and a loop that goes snug but comfortably around their muzzle with a ring just below it (as you can see) that you hook your leash to. At first, she reared her head a little and tried to get it off with her paws, she did manage to before we went outside but I made it a little more snug that what it was (it has an adjuster on the muzzle loop itself) and she wasn't able to get it off after that. I leashed her up and out we went..   I was pretty stunned at the reaction.. she shook her head a little out of just being confused as to what was around her muzzle but other than that she was very well mannered.. no pulling, no tugging, no lunging forward. She actually walked beside me, not ahead of me and was even tempered, much less on guard than usual. Hopefully this wasn't a fluke due to it being all new and catching her off guard because it was incredible, I recommend it so far and now look forward to walks with her!

Around.

This Monday is zipping by - I really hope the trend continues throughout the remainder of the day..and week!
We had a decently busy schedule this last weekend as compared to most, Tennessee had to work a half day on Saturday as well as OT all last week but no real complaints..  OT=$$$. Anyhow, I ran errands Saturday morning and not long after he got home on Saturday, we got ready and went out to dinner, to one of our favorite local italian restaurants, it's such a cute, yummy place. We both tried a new dish there and even though we both liked our dishes very much, we were pining to go back for our house favorites!

After we left there, we headed down to my family's house and spent some time laughing it up with some Georgia folk til about 11PM, it was such a great evening..  love my family, love those Georgians!

Then yesterday I went and had lunch with a cousin of mine while Tennessee got in some relaxation then we ran up to the local theme park Walmart to do a little grocery shopping & pick up some more charcoal for my newest love. Our little baby grill :] We bought it last weekend and I have grilled on it at least 5 nights - food on the grill/open flame tastes SO much better. Last night we made chicken & vegetable kabobs - turned out really tasty!

Other than all that, there was some frozen yogurt consumption, a little sleeping in/napping & some gaming.

Another good weekend in the books!

Hesitation.

So.. I've had this reoccurring thought over the last few weeks, months.. maybe as long as I have been blogging (roughly since 08 on & off). Don't get excited, I'm going to tell ya.
The thought is I hesitate a lot (about a lot of things), I put way too much unnecessary thought into some things, not everything needs a pie chart and fail safe, I get it, but I can't imagine being any other way and I would like to contribute my mostly responsible life up until this point to that.

Anyhow, the reason behind my explanation of myself here and I am sure I overthinkin' this one too but I really have this bone to pick with unnecessary blogging - hear me out. Ninety percent of the time, I hesitate to blog if I don't really have something to say, a story to share, an idea and most importantly to me, pictures.. taken...by...mydamnself. It just feels like it's how it should be, why share anything if it's not genuine and or worth the time it took to share it?

Now, I understand not all blogs are made equally and some share other peoples works & words as a part of the story they are trying to convey, a news broadcast in a way.. whether it be about the newest KitchenAid line or coach line, I get that..  what I don't get, completely don't get - is non-stop meme's, posts including no works of your own in any fashion just to get in another post, posts made up entirely of pinned photos showcasing this seasons color or whatever bullshit.. and other various sillyness like "Want to see what's in my overpriced, slavetrade bag?" No..  not at all, but thanks.

I understand I don't HAVE to look at any blog I am otherwise annoyed by, even though I do simply because it's just fun honestly to giggle at people..  but yes, I realize, I don't have to let this annoyance into my life, it's a simple click of the X.. I guess where I struggle is I wish the overwhelming amount of blogs were good quality & creation, not pointless show & tell in a lot of scenarios..  but if I can derive anything here, it can be that I love and honestly appreciate the true blogs that are simple, humble and REAL.

I don't have a photo to add to this, because I..   didn't take any.
